What’s new in this third edition?
この第３番で、何が新しくなったのでしょう？
Besides the little things such as a new cool cover image, there are two major changes from the previous editions. One is the addition of new chapter, which contains the analysis of various music therapy definitions by various theorists and organizations from all over the world. Another change is more procedural in composing the newly revised definition.
新しい表紙といった小さい変更がありますが、今回の改訂版では大きく二つの新しい変更がありました。一つは、世界中の様々な理論家や団体による音楽療法の定義の分析がされている章が加えられたことです。もう一つは、今回の新しい定義を作り上げる作業上の変更でした。
In the process of recreating the new music therapy definition in this edition, Bruscia invited two groups of music therapy scholars, one is called deconstruction party and the other is called reconstruction party.
この改訂版で新たな音楽療法の定義を再構築する過程で、ブルシアは音楽療法の学者を招いて、二つのグループに分けて意見を聴取しました。一つ目は「解体集団」でもう一つは「再建集団」と名付けました。
For the deconstruction parry, Bruscia invited scholars who provided feedback and critique to his definition in the second edition. They are Brian Abrams, Brynjulf Stige, Susan Hadley, Randi Rolvsjord, Dorit Amir, Jane Edwards, Carolyn Kenny, Even Ruud, Rudy Garred, Jennifer Adrienne, Kenneth Aigen, and Henk Smeijsters for deconstruction party.
ブルシアは、この解体集団に、第２版の音楽療法の定義に対する意見や批評をしたことのある学者を招きました。そこには、Brian Abrams, スティーゲ＊（Brynjulf Stige ＊英語発音だとスティーガだそうです）, Susan Hadley, Randi Rolvsjord, Dorit Amir, Jane Edwards, ケニー（Carolyn Kenny）, ルード（Even Ruud）, Rudy Garred, Jennifer Adrienne, エイギン（Kenneth Aigen）, や Henk Smeijstersが名を連ねています。
For the reconstruction party, Bruscia invited scholars who know him and his work very well and understand difficulty of coming up with the balanced music therapy definition. They are Brian Abrams, Denise Grocke, Michael Zanders, James Hiller, Susan Gardstrom, Lillian Eyre, Joy Allen, Joke Bradt, and Michelle Hintz.
また再建集団には、ブルシアや彼の働きについてよく知っている学者、そしてバランスのとれた定義を提供する難しさをよく理解している人を招きました。そこにはBrian Abrams, Denise Grocke, Michael Zanders, James Hiller, Susan Gardstrom, Lillian Eyre, Joy Allen, Joke Bradt, や Michelle Hintzが名を連ねています。
By incorporating various music therapy definitions from all over the world, as well as inviting scholars to gather the inputs towards reconstructing the new definition, Bruscia attempted to come up with the definition which capture the wide variety of theory and practice in music therapy in this edition.
世界の音楽療法の定義を加えること、また新たな定義を再構築する上で様々な学者からの意見を求めることにより、ブルシアは多様な音楽療法の理論や実践を捉えた定義をこの改訂版で作ろうとしたようです。
